The launch of South Lanarkshire ECO Stars brings the total number of Scottish schemes to six with more on the way.

The scheme was launched in Hamilton with award presentations to inaugural members which included DHL Supply Chain, Hargreaves Logistics, Suckling Transport, and South Lanarkshire Council themselves.

John Lamb, Local Air Quality Management Specialist at the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) said, “The Scottish Government’s draft Low Emission Strategy acknowledges the important role that voluntary partnership agreements can play in reducing the nation’s emissions of greenhouse gases and improving urban air quality.  SEPA therefore welcomes the launch of the South Lanarkshire ECO Stars scheme – the 6th ECO Stars scheme in Scotland”.
