South Yorkshire ECO Stars celebrates a decade of cleaner & efficient operations and launches New Taxi scheme in Barnsley & Doncaster.

To mark the occasion members, past and present came along to Barnsley Town Hall on Friday 8th March 2019 to listen to Cllr Robert Miller, Portfolio Holder Place Barnsley MBC give a key note speech on all the good work the ECO Stars Fleet Recognition Scheme had achieved over the last decade. Not only has the scheme helped fleet operators to run, cleaner and more efficiently but notably the significant contribution to the improvement of air quality in South Yorkshire.

Steve Robson, Transport Manager from Howdens Joinery Group Plc gave a small presentation on how to run a Green Fleet. Howdens became 4 star operators earlier in the year and KMS Mallinson, haulage operators in South Yorkshire were presented with a 150th member milestone certificate.

The day also marked the official launch of the *new* Taxi scheme in Barnsley & Doncaster, Peter Tingey of Blue Line Taxi Barnsley Limited and Wayne Fowler of Advanced Private Hire Barnsley were the first signed up members to the new Taxi scheme.

The end of the day was marked by a photoshoot kindly hosted by KMS Mallinson at their Barugh Green depot in Barnsley. Operators included Naylor Industries, KMS Mallinson and Howdens.
